Pokémon Go: The Advent of the Max Out Season
The sixteenth season of Pokémon Go, aptly named Max Out, marks an exciting phase with the introduction of both Dynamax Pokémon and an influx of Generation 8 Pokémon. This season invites players to venture outdoors to catch newly available Pokémon like Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, as they make their grand entrance into the game. Additionally, players are encouraged to explore various Power Spot locations, which are essential for battling Dynamax Pokémon. Special Research quests are also making their debut, adding to the excitement of the season.
Similar to previous seasons, Max Out features notable adjustments to egg pools, seasonal spawns, and the variety of Pokémon available depending on the hemisphere.
Max Out Season Timeline
The Max Out season kicks off on Tuesday, September 3rd at 10 AM (local time) and will run until Wednesday, December 3rd at 10 AM (local time). During this period, the twentieth season of the Go Battle League will also be active, complete with three leagues and various special cups.
This start date deviates from the usual Pokémon Go season schedule, which typically begins on the first day of the month. This change is likely due to September 1st falling on a Sunday this year, so players should consider this adjustment when planning their in-game activities.
Exciting Bonuses Through the Max Out Season
The Max Out season rolls out multiple bonuses designed to enhance gameplay. Players will gain increased XP for various activities, such as completing a seven-day PokéStop spinning streak and progressing Friendship Levels. This is particularly beneficial for those reaching the Best Friend status during the season.
In terms of trading, participants will receive extra candy when trading Pokémon, while those at Level 31 and above will obtain a guaranteed Candy XL.
From September 3rd to December 3rd, players can also encounter an array of Pokémon through Research Breakthroughs, including Galarian Weezing, Galarian Mr. Mime, Excadrill, Scraggy, Furfrou, and Jangmo-o.
The Max Out Roadmap
The primary highlight of the Max Out season is the launch of Dynamax Pokémon, officially debuting on Tuesday, September 10th at 10 AM (local time). While details continue to unfold, these exciting Power Spots are poised to appear on the map, providing players the chance to engage in Max Battles against Dynamax Pokémon and collect Max Particles—speculatively linked to Mega Energy.
Preliminary information indicates the first Dynamax forms available in one-star Max Battles include familiar faces like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo.
The Max Out season also integrates the first substantial release of Generation 8 Pokémon, welcoming players to catch Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Dreepy, along with the regionally exclusive Stonjourner for players in the United Kingdom. To mark this exciting debut, a new Special Research quest will launch on September 3rd, allowing players to choose one of the Galar starter Pokémon, affecting the backdrop of their Postcard Book throughout the season. Shiny forms of previously released Generations 8 Pokémon, like Wooloo and Skwovet, will also become available.
