Key Collection Challenge: Marvelous Minds – Catch

The Marvelous Minds: Catch challenge is a prominent highlight of the Psychic Spectacular and will be available until 8 PM local time on September 22nd. To reap the rewards, trainers must catch every Pokémon listed below before the deadline:

  • Spritzee: Can be found in the wild or via event-exclusive research tasks (Catch 10 Psychic or Fairy-type Pokémon).
  • Swirlix: Encounterable in the wild or through event-exclusive research tasks (Make 6 Great Curveball Throws).
  • Morelull: Available in the wild or as part of event-exclusive research tasks (Catch 10 Psychic or Fairy-type Pokémon, or Make 3/6 Great Curveball Throws).
  • Elgyem: Found in the wild, during seasonal field research (Make 3 Great Throws), or via event-exclusive research (Make 6 Great Curveball Throws).
  • Inkay: Encountered in the wild.

Completing this challenge will reward you with 1,000 Stardust and an encounter with Hatenna.

Second Challenge: Marvelous Minds – Evolve

Running concurrently with the event until the same deadline is the Marvelous Minds: Evolve collection challenge. Just like its predecessor, completing this challenge is necessary to earn the associated rewards.

The Pokémon involved in this challenge need to be specifically evolved rather than caught. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Kirlia: Evolve Ralts using 25 Ralts Candy.
  • Gardevoir: Evolve Kirlia using 100 Ralts Candy.
  • Solosis: Encounterable in the wild, seasonal field research (Make 10 Nice Throws), or via event-exclusive tasks (Make 6 Great Curveball Throws).
  • Duosion: Evolve Solosis using 25 Solosis Candy.
  • Reuniclus: Evolve Duosion using 100 Solosis Candy.

Completing this challenge will earn you 5,000 XP and another encounter with Hatenna.

Psychic Spectacular Research Tasks

During the Psychic Spectacular event, players can spin PokéStops to receive event-exclusive research tasks. While these tasks can be completed even after the event concludes, tackling them during the event can facilitate the completion of the Collection Challenges mentioned above.

Additionally, catching Morelulls via these tasks offers an increased chance of obtaining the shiny variant compared to those found in the wild.

Here’s a list of the Psychic Spectacular research tasks available:

  • Catch 10 Psychic or Fairy-type Pokémon: Rewards include encounters with Gothita, Spritzee, or Morelull.
  • Win a Max Battle: Reward includes an encounter with Hatenna.
